The area’s largest swimming club hosted its first open Masters swimming meet at Linwood's ON-X.

The event by REN96 drew 63 swimmers from various teams across Scotland and beyond, including Oban, Edinburgh, Inverness, and Newcastle.

Participants competed in 100m individual medleys, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, and freestyle.

The meet concluded with unexpected medley and freestyle relays to test the fitness levels.

Participants showcased impressive fitness levels and camaraderie.

The success of the meet has inspired REN96 to make it an annual event.

The meet served as ideal preparation for the eight REN96 swimmers who competed at the National Masters Short Course Championships in Glenrothes.

They returned with two gold medals, seven silver medals, three bronze medals, and several personal bests.

In the same spirit of competitive fun, REN96 swimmers Louise, Cara, Jessica, and Alba participated in the @goswimuk outdoor swim event at Loch Lomond.

The event provided a competitive yet enjoyable introduction to open-water swimming.

Karen, a REN96 volunteer and mother of Cara and Alba, cheered on the participants alongside Louise and Jessica's mum, Gillian.

"Jessica and Alba swam in the 250m event and both came in the top 10 female junior swimmers completing the swim in less than 10 minutes.

"Louise and Cara entered the longer 750m swim and completed it fantastically, both in less than 20 minutes and in the top 15 female juniors."
