A recent weekend of competitive swimming saw REN96's swimmers scoop 25 medals and personal bests.
The swimmers took part in a host of events at Irvine’s Portal swimming pool.
They raced against rivals from North and South Ayrshire, Kilmarnock, Stranraer, Bellshill, West Dunbartonshire, Bishopbriggs, Rutherglen, and Glasgow.
Earlier this month, 25 of REN96’s 12-years-and-over swimmers competed in events ranging from the 50m freestyle to the 400m individual medley and 400m freestyle.
The club's swimmers are not only focusing on their recorded time but also on their race processes and self-reflection.
This approach led to some impressive performances and significant personal bests.
REN96's coaches praised the swimmers for their tough racing and big personal bests, especially in the 400m middle-distance races.
The swimmers also won 14 gold medals, 15 silver medals, and 10 bronze medals.
The following day was the turn of REN96’s Foundation squad swimmers, who competed in three age groups; nine years and under, 10 years, and 11 years.
This meet was designed to give younger swimmers a first taste of competitive swimming and 25 REN96 swimmers took part.
They raced in 114 individual events and improved their entry times in 65 of these.
They also collected 11 gold medals, five silver medals, and five bronze medals.
Alan Dickson, the lead coach, said: "These meets are invaluable for REN96’s younger members, as they afford our swimmers the chance to start putting the skills they learn in training into practice in competitions.
"Our swimmers were fantastic especially considering it was the first time for some in a competitive environment.
"There are always learning points but I saw lots of examples of swimmers trying to stick to the process rather than getting overawed by the situation.
"Given the number of cancelled competitions at the tail end of last year it was great to be back competing in such healthy numbers - let’s hope these results are a sign of things to come this season.”
