Johnstone Burgh manager Jamie McKim insists there is no need for panic at Keanie Park, despite back-to-back defeats for his team.
A 3-1 loss at Drumchapel United on Saturday followed on from a 2-0 defeat against Kilbirnie Ladeside in their previous match.
However, Burgh remain in good shape for promotion from the First Division, with McKim looking for a positive reaction from his players this weekend as they host Rutherglen Glencairn.
He told Gazette Sport: “It’s not like us to lose two games in a row, especially this year.
“There’s only one thing for it and that’s to remain positive and work hard to get back to our maximum.
“There’s no panic in our dressing room. We’ll be looking at where we can improve and, come Saturday, we’ll be putting into action the work we put in at training this week.
“We’re in a difficult spot after the last couple of weeks but how we get through it and react to it will define where we end up this season.”
A hat-trick from David Hopkirk sealed the points for Drumchapel at the Donald Dewar Centre, with Blair Rossiter scoring a consolation goal for Burgh in added time.
Several players with experience of the senior ranks were on show, with the likes of Hopkirk, David Templeton and Grant Anderson lining up for the home side and Graham Dorrans, Jason Naismith and Darren Christie in the Burgh team, in what was an example of how competitive the West of Scotland Football League has become.
McKim said: “Drumchapel played well and managed the game well but it wasn’t the result and the performance we were after.”
Saturday's clash with Rutherglen at Keanie Park kicks off at 2pm, with McKim eager to get back to winning ways.
He added: “We’ll be approaching the game the same as we would any other but there’s no doubt we want to arrest the recent league form.
“We’ll keep working hard and go into Saturday knowing we have good quality in the squad and players who can win us the game.”
