Renfrew manager Jimmy Quigley hopes his team's challenging pre-season schedule will pay dividends once the competitive action begins.
The New Western Park outfit are taking on some tough opponents this summer, with a 2-2 draw secured at last season's First Division champions Benburb on Saturday.
Dominic Lavelle and a trialist netted for Renfrew and Quigley believes taking on Premier Division teams will prepare his troops for a tough season ahead.
He told Gazette Sport: “Everyone we are playing in pre-season was either in a cup final or won a league title last season.

“We’re coming off the back of a positive season but I want to give the guys that benchmark in terms of Gartcairn and Benburb and Clydebank to see where they need to be to get out of the division.
“Vale of Clyde won their division as well, so they’ll be hungry. It’s a really good mix of pre-season friendlies against good-quality sides.”
Renfrew are back in action on Wednesday night as they welcome Vale of Clyde before hosting Kilsyth Athletic, Clydebank and Ashfield in a two-day tournament at New Western Park this weekend.
The action on both days gets underway at noon.
