RENFREW chiefs are hoping fans will back their decision to ask to join the new West of Scotland Football League.
The Frew confirmed last week they would be applying for a ‘Tier 6’ place that allows Junior clubs the opportunity to work their way up through the divisions of the Senior game.
And secretary Will Johnston hopes supporters will get behind the move.
He said: “I would like to hope that the fans will back us.
“Our members put their faith in us as a committee to run this club and we work extremely hard in doing so.
“We have a very dedicated committee who are all volunteers and spend a lot of their own time doing everything we can for this club whist juggling normal life out-with.”
With the country in lockdown, football has taken a back seat and the season is currently suspended until the end of April.
Whether or not the current season will be finished remains to be seen, but Johnston is hopeful that the club will be in a good shape when football returns.
He said: “The current circumstances are very difficult but we will keep doing our best to keep us going and be ready for when football restarts.
“At the present moment, the most important thing is that everyone stays safe and stays at home and we hope everyone will come back out and support us at New Western Park when the time is right.”
