Jamie McKim insists he couldn’t be happier with Johnstone Burgh’s transfer business so far this summer after bringing in 12 new faces at Keanie Park - with more set to follow later this week.
The Burgh boss has been hard at work after his side wrapped up their West Region League Two campaign in May, bolstering his squad with a mix of young talent and some much-needed experience.
McKim, who revealed to Gazette Sport that even more new signings could be checking in at the end of the week, is delighted with his dealings so far and is adamant that every player knows exactly what to expect when signing.

“I’m delighted with our transfer business so far,” McKim said. “We are always looking to improve and I firmly believe all the boys that have come in will definitely help us do that.
“I have often spoken of finding a good mix with older, more experienced players helping nurture some younger talent and I believe the 12 boys we’ve brought in all fit into one of those categories.
“We had big aspirations last season which I made no attempt to hide. I won’t be coming out and saying where we’re going to finish and putting that kind of pressure on the guys this year, but every one of them know exactly what is expected here and know what kind of environment they’re coming into.”
And while McKim admits he has no regrets over making public such aspirations last season, a number of Burgh fans were vocal in their displeasure at some poor performances and results at the tail end of the season.
The gaffer has never shied away from that - even agreeing to a Q and A with fans last season - and revealed that himself and new Burgh president Ricky Cantwell are on the exact same page when it comes to the club’s future and their expectations for the upcoming season.
He said: “I’ve never been in any doubt that I’ve had the full backing of the board but it’s still nice to know they have confidence in me with Ricky taking over.
“Ricky and the board all knew when I arrived that this wasn’t going to be a short term fix. It was never going to happen overnight, but we’ve shown in flashes what we’re capable of without much consistency.
“I work well as a team with the committee and the board so it’s great to have their full backing. We’re all on the same wave length with the same aim - to take this club forward and make it as successful as possible.”

And McKim is certain that new president Cantwell is the perfect man to lead the club after being appointed president earlier this month - taking over the reigns from long-serving John Rock on June 12
“It’s great to see Ricky named as president as he gives his life to Johnstone Burgh,” McKim added. “I know I do a lot at this club but if there’s one guy here that does more than myself, then it’s Ricky. No one puts as much time and effort in as Ricky so I’m delighted he’s been named president.
“John Rock did a great job and it was a sad day to see him step down but Ricky is deserving of his opportunity.”
