Colin Clark admits his Renfrew side are getting desperate

Clark’s side, who found themselves 2-0 down after just 90 seconds at Lochburn Park after a blistering start from the Bankies, now sit four points above Kirkintilloch Rob Roy having played three games more.

Frew have just two games remaining as they bid to beat the drop after promotion last term with Clark insisting everyone at the club is embracing the pressure.

He said: “That was a tough one to take. We gave ourselves a mountain to climb losing two goals in the manner we did. We tried to play football on a park that just didn’t suit it and got caught out. 

“We found ourselves 2-0 down before the majority of our players had even touched the ball. 

“We did well for 88 minutes after that and got back into it at 2-1.”

Clark continued: “We then miss an absolute sitter to equalise and they go right up the park from the that make it three.

“It’s getting a bit tight down the bottom now. We’re desperate for points in our last two games. Rob Roy have three games in hand but it won’t be as easy as they think to win those. They’re down near the bottom of the league for a reason so winning three games is not guaranteed.

“We’re under a lot of pressure to get points from our last two games regardless. I think we we need to rely on ourselves rather than waiting on others to lose. We came into this league expecting tough games so we’re not running scared of this run-in, we’re embracing it.”

Renfrew are back in action at New Western Park this weekend as they welcome league leaders Hurlford. Kick-off 2pm.
