GLASGOW Clan head coach Pete Russell insists he will take positives from the weekend after his side suffered back-to-back defeats.
Clan’s recent run of form has seen them climb up to third in the EIHL table as the season comes to a close but successive losses against the Nottingham Panthers and Guildford Flames saw them pick up no points on their travels.
A gruelling schedule has seen Russell’s men play 12 matches in four weeks with the coach admitting fatigue was a factor in the recent losses.
He said: “I thought we were below average for two periods [against Guildford]. We’ve been on a great run and we’ve kind of hit a bit of a lull right now. We’ve talked about fatigue but we have to fight through that. We really made a game of it in the third period, we came close and changed a couple of things. At least we had some push back.
“The results haven’t went in our favour this weekend against two good teams in Nottingham and Guildford but the push back was there so it gives us something to build on.”
