FURIOUS Johnstone Burgh boss Jamie McKim blasted his side after their 3-1 loss at home to Saltcoats Victoria, insisting every player at the club must now show they deserve to be there or risk being let go at the end of the season.
With last week’s match against St Anthony’s abandoned and their two previous matches falling victim to the weather, Burgh were looking to get back on track with three points against the Seasiders.
It wasn’t to be, however, with McKim admitting that was the worst 90 minutes he’s experienced as Burgh manager.

“That was simply not acceptable,” he told Gazette Sport. “I won’t accept that level of performance or discipline at Johnstone Burgh again. That was the worst team performance from us since I took over.
“It was one of the worst refereeing performances I’ve witnessed too with two penalties against us but I’m not making any excuses, it was nowhere near what I expect from us.”
Burgh travel to Muirkirk this week and while McKim is after three points, he admitted the performance is key.
He continued: “Every single one of the players are playing for their future now. Everyone in that dressing room needs to show me they deserve to be here. I know where I want to take this club and where we can go, so I’m not going to accept that level of performance or discipline. All the players were made aware of that in no uncertain terms after the game. To anyone who was watching on Saturday, you won’t see that again.
“We’ve got suspensions now but I’ve got quality in this squad so the guys who come in will have a chance to play for a jersey. That’s how I’ve always worked - if you play well , the jersey is yours to lose.”
