RENFREW co-manager Colin Clark hopes that his side can take away the promising first 70 minutes of Saturday’s performance at Beith.
The Frew more than matched the reigning Super League champions for much of the game, before the hosts eventually ran out 2-0 winners.
Reece McGillion’s unfortunate own goal in the first-half put the Ayrshire side ahead and Kenny McLean’s second-half penalty ended Renfrew’s hopes of a fightback.

But Clark believes his nine-men acquitted themselves well for most of the match.
He said: “Over the piece it was a very tight game. There was nothing in it.
“We just didn’t get the breaks when we needed them.
“We finished the game with nine men due to injuries and trying to push for an equaliser leaves you open at the back. Craig Dallas took a couple of poor challenges and Rikki McIntosh had a clash of hips.
“We were stuffy, organised and worked hard.
“I thought we could have been better in the final third although their goalkeeper made a wonderful save in the first-half to keep the score at 0-0.
“Going down to nine men was the contest finished for us but we’ve got to try and look at the first 70 minutes where we competed well and gave a very good team a tough game.”
The Frew travel to Meadow Park this Saturday to take on in-form Irvine Meadow.
The Medda started the season poorly and in the reverse fixture in September Renfrew ran out 5-1 winners.
And whilst Clark would love a repeat of that score line, he acknowledged it would be difficult for his side against third place Meadow.
Clark said: “We’d take that result again but it doesn’t look like we’ll manage that.
“They’ve really kicked on after a poor start to the season. They deserve a lot of credit for their response.

“We’ve got a good record against them and we’ll be looking to extend that.
“After this Saturday we’ve got four home games in a row and we’re going to focus on that.
“Everyone is expecting us to go down because we’ve got the lowest budget in the league. We’ve got to take it for what it is and enjoy it.”
