Johnstone Burgh manager Jamie McKim is refusing to give up hopes of promotion as his side get ready for the business end of the season.

Burgh were set to welcome Lesmahagow to Keanie Park on Saturday but a waterlogged pitch meant that the game didn’t go ahead for the second week in a row. 

With eight games left for Burgh this season promotion looks like a slim chance.

The top three placed sides gain promotion from League Two with McKim’s men currently ten points behind Vale of Leven who occupy third.

But McKim isn’t giving up hope just yet and believes his side have what it takes to finish the season on a high. 

He said: “We’ve shot ourselves in the foot regarding promotion.

“We have no one to blame but ourselves. We’ve dropped points where we shouldn’t have and inconsistency has cost us.

“It’s been a frustrating season but we’ve got eight games left and if we win all eight we give ourselves a chance. But saying that and doing it is a different matter.”
