JOHNSTONE Burgh suffered an agonising end to 2018 at Keanie Park as Annbank United secured a narrow 4-3 victory over Jamie McKim’s side.
It will be a match Burgh will look back on as an opportunity missed, as they let themselves fall 3-1 behind before the half-time whistle.
The Keanie Park men conjured up a spirited comeback in the second half, but it was all too late.

The opening period was frustrating for the Burgh as goals from United’s Adam Lawrie and two from Lewis McClymont put the hosts in a commanding position, but a Billy Davies penalty did give Johnstone hope.
After the break Burgh’s Sam Esplin and Mark Davies levelled things up, but McKim’s side were made to rue many missed chances in the closing stages.

The match came down to the wire and a wayward Annbank shot deflected in off Tucker Sloan and into the net eventually gave the visitors the win.
