The Jingle Bell Run in Paisley is set to return after being cancelled last year.

The Active Communities event will take place on December 1 at Barshaw Park.

This will be the 20th anniversary of the event, and organisers are hoping it will be a "memorable celebration of community spirit and festive cheer".

The event will begin with a 3k run at 11am for participants aged eight and over, which will be followed by a 1k run at noon for participants of all ages, including those in buggies.

The event also features spot prizes for the most creative costumes.

Cheryl Thomas, programme development manager at Active Communities, said: "The Jingle Bell Run is a fantastic way to bring people together and begin the festive season.

"After the disappointment of last year’s cancellation, we are thrilled to celebrate our 20th anniversary with the community.

"It’s a wonderful event for all the family."

Proceeds from the event help fund essential initiatives throughout Renfrewshire such as the community pantry and free wellbeing classes and social groups.
