A school in Renfrew hosted a tea and coffee afternoon for care home residents.
The CommuniTEA Unity Ambassadors at Newmains Primary School organised the event for family members and residents from Craigielee and Renfrew care homes.
The idea was thought up by pupils Josh, Gabriel, Cole, and Harris, who wanted to create an event that would bring the community together and help form special connections.
Staff and pupils from St James' Primary School also attended the afternoon to assist the Newmains children in serving and entertaining the residents.
The pupils recited poetry and sang a song about kindness.
They also shared the various skills they used to organise the event, including reaching out to the community link worker at Tesco, who provided some funding for the project.
Following the event, the children expressed their pride and satisfaction in seeing their hard work pay off.
The residents reported that they were delighted to have been invited, loved speaking with the children, and enjoyed spending time at Newmains.
They are already looking forward to the next get-together at Christmas, where the children have been invited to Renfrew Care Home for a morning of festivities.
Mrs Dunn, head teacher at Newmains Primary, said: "We are very proud of the children for hosting such a successful event and are delighted to further establish positive relationships with the wider community.
"The children showed a caring attitude and kindly considered the needs of those attending the CommuniTEA Unity event, which is in line with our school vision and values."
