A LINWOOD man who was killed on the M74 in a motorcycle crash has been named by police.
James Martin died in a smash near Abington last month after a collision between a black Harley Davidson motorcycle and a blue Ford Focus car.
Mr Martin was pronounced dead at the scene. The car driver was not injured.
The 45-year-old is being remembered as “a proud motorcyclist who will be missed by everyone who knew him.”
His family has asked for privacy but issued the following statement: “We would like to thank Lanarkshire Road Policing and everyone who stopped to help and all other emergency services who attended.
“James was a proud motorcyclist and will be missed by everyone who knew him.”
The incident happened around 6.40pm near junction 13, northbound, and involved a black Harley Davidson motorcycle and a blue Ford Focus car.
Sergeant Andrew Coutts said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Mr Martin. His family has asked for their privacy to be respected at what is a very difficult time for them.”
