A HOME improvement store in Paisley has revamped a Renfrewshire charity's community space with DIY expertise and products.
The team from B&Q Paisley volunteered to assist Active Communities by painting and installing new panelling in their main conference room.
This room serves as an important space for the charity's users and helps generate income for their community work.
Active Communities is an award-winning health and wellbeing charity.
They run Station Seven, an inclusive community space, and a range of programmes aimed at inspiring, motivating, and keeping people connected.
The activity was part of B&Q’s Community Days programme, which sees groups of colleagues from B&Q stores assist local charities by improving community spaces.
Almost 300 charities across the country will receive similar help, with thousands of B&Q colleagues volunteering their time.
Margo Shearer, deputy manager of B&Q Paisley, said: "It’s great to be helping out Active Communities this year, the whole team love putting their practical skills to use and when it’s to support a good cause it’s even better.
"Seeing a project completed by the team gives a great sense of satisfaction."
Amanda Moulson from Active Communities said: "We are delighted to have had the team from B&Q support us by giving up their time to improve our space.
"They have transformed the conference room into a bright and welcoming environment.
"A huge thank you to B&Q and their colleagues for making this happen."
