Part of the former Chivas Brothers HQ site has been put on the market.
The vacant site for sale, which is being marketed by Edinburgh-based commercial real estate firm Avison Young, extends to approximately 2.1 acres.
Owned by Renfrewshire Council, it contains the former Chivas Brothers administration building, which is C-listed, and Kersland House.
The administration building was designed to house Chivas' many administrative functions and was the main frontage to a 14-acre warehouse and bottling site which was demolished in 2021.
A Renfrewshire Council spokesperson said: "The former Chivas Brothers Administration Building and Kersland House are being marketed for sale in their present form.
"The former Chivas building is listed and this is specified in all marketing materials."
Located around one kilometre north of Paisley town centre, it is in a prominent roadside location with direct roundabout access from Renfrew Road (A7410).
In the listing, the site is described as having refurbishment/new build development potential, as well as providing an opportunity for a range of uses including “commercial, residential, food and drink, leisure, hospitality and nursery”.
It is positioned adjacent to the new Paisley Grammar School, which is under construction, and the planned link road to the new White Cart Bridge.
It is part of the original 24-acre HQ site, the majority of which was sold by Chivas Brothers owners Pernod Ricard to Renfrewshire Council in 2020.
The remainder of the site, including the North Hall, was taken over at the time by Bridge of Weir-based Scottish Leather Group.
The council sought specialist advice from architects to determine if the main administrative building – built from 1962 to 1964 to resemble a traditional Scottish country house – could be retained as part of the new Paisley Grammar.
As we reported in June 2023, the site’s iconic main building was not, however, ultimately included in plans for the campus, which is set to open in August 2026.
"The buildings are not part of the new Paisley Grammar School and Community Campus so will provide an exciting opportunity for new owners to bring the site back into use as part of the ongoing regeneration of Paisley," added the council spokesperson.
