A huge indoor karting track is set to open in XSite Braehead after its ski slope closed down.
K1 Speed aims to bring a 'new level of excitement' to the Renfrew leisure facility when they open their flagship racing track in autumn 2025.
The indoor go-karting attraction will combine high-speed electric karting with a 'cutting-edge e-sports lounge over three floors in a £5.5 million investment.
Spanning over 90,000 sq ft., the high-spec track will be equipped with the latest safety technology and advanced timing systems, so that racers of all skill levels can enjoy a unique and fun experience.

They say the karts, priced at £15,000 each, are the most advanced in the world and can reach speeds of up to 40 mph.
With a track spanning 1000 metres and 35 high-performance karts racing at the same time, the firm claims the facility will be the world's longest.
As well as the karting track, the lounge will feature premium racing simulators with advanced gaming technology.
Around 80 jobs will be created in the opening, providing a boost to the local economy.
The karting experience will replace XSite's Snowfactor indoor skiing and tobogganing slopes, which initially shut in November 2022 before closing permanently due to 'financial and safety' grounds.
We reported in May that planning permission was being sought to build an e-karting facility, an associated bar/restaurant and an e-sports area.
K1 Speed has 100 locations worldwide, including 70 sites in the USA and tracks in Canada, Mexico, France and Italy.
Kitty Vaughan, Head of UK Leisure and F&B at Pradera Lateral, XSite’s Asset Management team said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome K1 Speed to XSite Braehead making us the home of the world’s largest indoor karting track and e-sports venue.
