Visitors to Braehead Shopping Centre will be able to enjoy a range of fun activities as it marks its 25th birthday.

The retail hub is inviting shoppers and families to join the festivities from Friday, September 20 to Sunday, September 22.

There will be a wheel of fortune and crack the safe games, a confetti canon, a DJ, silent disco, giveaways, and the chance to win incredible prizes.

Ashley Bisland, centre director, said: “Celebrating 25 years is a proud moment for everyone involved at Braehead.

"We’re excited to host this celebration in the centre, giving back to the local community that has made the past 25 years so special.

“Without the loyalty and commitment of our shoppers, retailers and amazing staff, the centre would not be the space it is today with new offerings such as the most recent Mango and Phase Eight openings."

A photo mosaic wall and selfie pod will also be available so visitors can get involved in photo opportunities and create memories.

Of course, no celebration is complete without cake, and 1,000 frosted cupcakes will be shared as Braehead’s team, retailers, and visitors come together to commemorate a quarter of a century.

As well as proving a key shopping destination since opening in 1999, Braehead has also hosted some big events such as Beyonce’s concert, Oasis performances, X-Factor auditions and welcomed iconic shows such as Dancing on Ice and This Morning’s Fashion Show.

Paul Lucas, operations manager, added: “One of the highlights was definitely the X-Factor auditions in 2009.

“I even got a picture with Cheryl and Simon.

"Turning 25 makes me reflect on how much we've achieved.

“I started here when I was 23, and now, 25 years later, I've been part of every step in this journey. It's been an amazing ride.”
