A Paisley hospital has unveiled an international plaque after NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde received an international honour for being a great place to work.

The Investors in People (IiP) plaque was unveiled at the Royal Alexandra Hospital after the NHSGGC achieved the accreditation.

The IiP looks at organisational standards in the areas of improving, leading, and supporting.

A two-year assessment took in the Royal Alexandra Hospital as part of a Clyde Cluster, which includes the Vale of Leven Hospital and Dykebar Hospital.

All site clusters within NHSGGC acute and corporate have completed the IiP assessment and attained the standard.

In feedback about the Clyde Cluster, IiP said the staff was starting to acknowledge elements of "positive change".

It said: "There is a growing sense that they are being listened to and feel more involved, informed, and have ways to feedback to influence change."

NHSGGC has now started on a three-year cycle to further improve its practices and strive for higher levels of the IiP standard, aiming for silver, gold, and platinum accreditation.

Melanie McColgan, director of NHSGGC’s Clyde sector, said: “I would like to thank all staff across Clyde Cluster for all their support, hard work and dedication to making our sites great places to work.”

Eddie Salmon, head of Account Management at Investors in People, said: “It’s clear to see the commitment to attracting, developing and retaining colleagues; underpinned by a focus on engagement, learning, and continuous improvement by embracing transformation, innovation and partnership working.”
