A PAISLEY man bit a worker at a bar in Glasgow city centre after he was asked to leave the premises.

Sam Cameron had been at The Smokin’ Fox on Waterloo Street shortly after midnight on September 24, 2023.

The 27-year-old was under the influence of alcohol and was rude to Oluwaseun Osanyilusi, who was a member of staff at the venue.

Security tried to engage with Cameron in an attempt to calm him down.

However, he was asked to leave.

Cameron caused further commotion and staff refused to serve him alcohol due to his behaviour.

Whilst being ushered to the main entrance Cameron fell on the floor and bit Mr Osanyilusi on the right calf – not breaking the skin.

He was then removed from the premises but continued to make attempts to bite Mr Osanyilusi.

The worker summoned police who were nearby by waving his arms to notify them of the incident.

Officers attended and placed Cameron under arrest. He was cautioned and charged to which he made no reply.

Cameron appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court recently for sentencing after pleading guilty to assaulting a man by biting him on the body and repeatedly attempting to bite him on the body.

The offence was committed whilst Cameron was on bail.

Cameron’s lawyer told the court that his client was not fit for unpaid work.

Addressing Cameron, Sheriff Anna Reid said: “This is clearly a serious matter however, I’m minded that there is a non-custodial disposal available to you.”

Sheriff Reid tagged him for 18 weeks keeping him indoors between 7pm and 7am.
