A HOSPITALITY skills hub's new course is set to support more than 50 young people in Renfrewshire.

Hub International's fourth hospitality programme, running throughout September, aims to provide valuable skills and employment opportunities to young people in the area.

The six-week training initiative features practical workshops and masterclasses.

It is designed to offer industry-specific qualifications, opportunities to collaborate with local employers, and hands-on experience in areas like cookery, cocktail making, and barista skills.

Stephanie Wade, chief executive officer of Hub International, said: "We are thrilled to continue working with Renfrewshire Local Employability Partnership (RLEP) to provide valuable support to the local community.

"Our passion is to nurture the next generation of hospitality professionals, elevating their skills while igniting their passion for the industry.

"I hope employers in the area continue to get behind the initiative so we can further support more young people in gaining skills and employment."

The programme not only benefits participants but also serves as a resource for employers to discover and develop talent.

Those aged between 16 and 24 who wish to join the next course can get in touch at info@hi-people.org.

Barry from Holiday Inn Glasgow Airport, a supporter of the programme who offers placements and industry visits, said: "It's a fantastic opportunity for young people to gain practical experience and insight into the hospitality industry.

"We're proud to be part of an initiative that helps shape the future workforce.

"Recently, we employed two trainees who have settled well into their roles, and we look forward to supporting future training academies."
