Real Housewives of Cheshire star Tanya Bardsley was left teary-eyed by a local care worker's heartfelt original song.
Gordon Robertson from Visiting Angels Renfrewshire, a participant in the Homecare’s Got Talent (HCGT) semi-final, tugged the heartstrings with his song ‘Boys Will Be Boys’ about his experience being bullied in school.
His remarkable vocals created a buzz on social media, securing his spot for the upcoming finals on August 8 at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre in York.
Ms Bardsley was brought to tears by his song and shared her own experiences of being bullied and applauded his impressive vocals and songwriting talent.
She was inspired by the way he positively channelled the hardships he faced by giving back to others through his career in care.
The talent competition is exclusively for homecare professionals to show off their diverse gifts.
The grand prize includes a cash award of £1,000, a trip for two, and the chance to perform at Carefest, an annual event honouring healthcare workers' commitment and success.
Gordon said: “As a long-time musician, it would mean a lot if I won the final.
“I've entered many music and talent competitions over the years and I've never won any of them, so to win this would be lovely, especially because I'm competing using music that I've written myself.
“I do a lot of performing of other people's music but have never really had a lot of success performing my own, so to be recognised for my songwriting would be a really great feeling.
“It would also be great to help bring further exposure to the care industry and perhaps highlight the importance of men taking on care roles especially.
“I'm looking forward to competing in York for sure.”
He hopes the community will support him on social media and at the event which will raise money for The Care Workers Charity which aims to advance the financial, professional, and mental wellbeing of care workers.
