An urban historian has marked his comeback from a leukemia battle with an online talk about Renfrewshire weavers.
After a 16-month hiatus for treatment, including a bone marrow transplant, Stephen Clancy will host the free talk on Wednesday, July 31.
The session will explore Paisley and Kilbarchan's weaving heritage, with some discussion on David Gilmour's writings about local weavers, and contributions from Paisley weaver poets.
Details of all The Urban Historians activities are available at theurbanhistorian.co.uk.
Mr Clancy said: “It’s been a tough year and a bit, but I’ve been able to keep reading and doing the odd bit of research and I’m looking forward to getting back to in-person walks and talks later this year.”
He is planning to run fundraising events for the Beatson Cancer Charity in August and a 10-week online Genealogy lecture series on researching Paisley and Renfrewshire ancestors later in the year.
Regular in-person heritage walks and talks will resume once clearance has been given.
