Plans for 179 homes near Glasgow rescued from collapsed firm

Independent developer Dundas Estates has stepped in to deliver the development after Stewart Milne went into administration in January, resulting in around 217 jobs lost.

The new site will consist of 179 three to six-bedroom homes, and 62 of these will be 'affordable' properties.

It also boasts good transport links and accessibility to Glasgow and the nearby motorway network. 

They will also support the delivery of a woodland park, open spaces and other community spaces such as a new health centre and primary school.

Dundas hopes to deliver the first homes by late summer 2024.

Craig Fairfoull, sales and marketing director at Dundas, said: “We appreciate there may have been unexpected challenges and uncertainties faced by prospective homeowners engaged with the previous developer.

“However, our primary goal is to make the transition as smooth as possible, and we urge those who had reservations with Stewart Milne for one of these plots to contact us immediately.

“We aim to deliver these much-needed homes in the coming months, allowing prospective buyers to finally move into the homes they have been looking forward to.”

To satisfy buyers, Dundas plans to build house types that remain similar in style and specification to Stewart Milne, including terraced, semi-detached and larger detached homes.

They are asking potential buyers who may have reserved a plot with Stewart Milne to contact them at sales@dundas.co.uk to discuss their plans further. 

Dundas were supported by solicitors Anderson Strathern through the acquisition of the site.

Stewart Milne Group was founded in 1975 and has around 35 active sale sites across the country with offices in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow among other UK bases.
