Renfrewshire Council is urging Kilbarchan residents to take part in a survey that will help decide the future of the Steeple Buildings.

Residents and individuals in the surrounding area are being invited to share their opinion regarding the potential future utilisation of these structures.

The Steeple Buildings, which are 250 years old, require significant external repairs and facility upgrades.

Council officers are collaborating with heritage specialists from the Glasgow Building Preservation Trust to develop sustainable proposals for the buildings' rehabilitation.

An important element of this initiative is a public consultation event scheduled for August 3, from 11am to 3pm at the Parish Church Hall, Steeple Square.

The community is welcome to converse directly with the Glasgow Building Preservation Trust about potential plans for the building.

An online survey will also be available for those unable to attend the event in person.

Councillor Andy Steel, convener of Renfrewshire Council’s Economy and Regeneration Policy Board, said: "The Steeple Buildings have been a landmark in Kilbarchan for more than 250 years so it’s extremely important that the community have the chance to put forward their views about their future.

"The public event and survey is a chance for people to review the suggestions made by experts and help shape the next steps so I would encourage everyone to come along to the in-person event and to spread the word around the local area.

"If you can’t make it, please take part by filling out the online survey."
