Paisley-born singer-songwriter Joe Egan has died aged 77.
The musician best known as the co-founder of Scottish folk band Stealers Wheel, passed away on Saturday.
Producing hits such as Stuck in the Middle with You, Joe played in the band alongside Gerry Rafferty.
His death was confirmed in a Facebook post on Rafferty’s official page, which is run by a family member.
The post read: “Very sad news that the other half of Stealers Wheel, Joe Egan, passed away peacefully yesterday afternoon with his nearest and dearest around him. I will always remember him as a sweet and gentle soul. May he rest in peace”.
One person paid tribute on Facebook and said: "A greatly underrated songster in his own right. Joe’s solo work is amongst my favourite music. I’m really saddened to hear this news. His music lives on."
Another wrote: "So sad - Joe was a great songwriter, singer and musician. He contributed hugely to the success of Stealers Wheel’s three brilliant albums.
"His first solo album Out Of Nowhere is a fantastic album that never received the recognition that it deserved. Another Scottish music legend gone. Love and warm wishes to Joe’s family."
