A LIST of free summer holiday activities across Renfrewshire has been launched.

Organised by local community and voluntary groups and supported by Renfrewshire Council, the Summer of Fun programme pulls together a whole host of free activities.

They include sports, swimming, cheerleading, arts and crafts, games and gaming, family fun days, music, drama and dance, cooking and gardening, roller skating, and silent discos among others.

The council will regularly update its site which lists the available activities (click HERE).

The community programme is part of a wider Summer of Fun initiative, including offers by Street Stuff, OneRen libraries, and the council’s summer activity camps supported by the Community Learning and Development Team.

Libraries will host drop-in play sessions such as film club, marble maze, giant games, arts and crafts, and the Summer Reading Challenge.

All links for these activities are available on the council’s website.

Council-funded activities come free of charge, with snacks or meals included depending on activity length.

Renfrewshire’s Provost Lorraine Cameron said: “The first Summer of Fun programme was well-loved by families, children and young people last year and it’s great to once again work with community and voluntary groups and organisations to be able to put on another programme filled with free and fun activities and experiences, with something for everyone.

“The programme helps children, young people and families socialise and make and deepen connections throughout the long summer holidays, offering a wider range of opportunities that build on the existing programmes from the Council, OneRen and other partners.

“I would encourage people to check out what is on offer by visiting the website.”
