Kind-hearted punters at a Paisley bar have raised £1,500 for charity.

The Club Bar on Moss Street held a fundraising raffle, the proceeds of which have been donated to Beatson Cancer Charity.

The leading cancer centre is the busiest in the UK, seeing more than 8,000 new patients and delivering at least 25,000 chemotherapy and 6,500 radiotherapy courses each year.

Jamie Robertson, from The Club Bar, said: "We all know someone close who has been affected by cancer.

"It’s a horrible thing and anything that we can do to support people who need care is very worthwhile.

"We’d like to thank Charlie, the manager, and all the staff for their hard work selling the tickets and to all our customers who supported the fundraising by donating prizes or buying tickets, it was greatly appreciated and we raised a fantastic amount."

Joyce Ross, partnerships fundraising manager at Beatson Cancer Charity, appreciated the support from the bar customers and staff.

She said: "Support like this allows us to continue offering our existing services and develop new ones to enhance the care and support cancer patients and their families receive during treatment.

"Thank you to everyone who helped to raise such a fantastic amount for Beatson Cancer Charity."
