A five-star hotel in Renfrewshire has submitted two applications for listed building consent amid a £15m project to renovate the site.
Both have been lodged as Bishopton's Mar Hall Hotel, Golf and Spa Resort seeks to reposition itself as one of the most luxurious destinations in the country.
The first application relates to consent for the refurbishment and minor alterations of public areas and back of house areas at ground and lower ground floor levels of the mansion house.
The second, meanwhile, seeks consent for the internal refurbishment and minor alterations of suites, bedrooms, bathrooms and associated circulation areas in the same Category A listed building.
The resort was saved with investment from Dubai-based Dutco Group towards the end of last year after falling into administration in August 2023.
It is now undergoing a substantial refurbishment programme as part of ongoing investment under its new ownership.
Last week, we reported that it has also submitted a planning application to build 30 one, two and four-bedroom woodland lodges in its 240-acre estate, with work planned to start immediately upon approval.
Offering stunning views across the River Clyde, the Kilpatrick hills and beyond, each lodge will have its own private terrace with a hot tub.
We also previously reported that a newly refurbished leisure suite had been unveiled in May including a state-of-the-art gym, alongside a 20-metre swimming pool with saunas, steam rooms, relaxation space, and an outdoor thermal suite.
