The annual Renfrew Gala Day is back again, with cowboys and girls of all ages encouraged to “mosey on down” to enjoy this year’s Wild West theme.
Held at Robertson Park, the gala day is billed as “an exciting array of toe-tapping activities for all the family,” and will include a funfair, inflatables, and face painting, amongst other entertainment.
The day will commence at midday with a parade setting off from Dunlop Crescent, led by the Renfrewshire Schools Pipe Band and featuring a variety of local community groups.
The funfair returns for thrill seekers young and old, and there will be a selection of inflatables provided by local Renfrew company Ally Bally’s Bouncy Castles.
No gala day is complete without stalls, and this year’s celebration will be no exception, showcasing the best of the area’s local traders, community groups and charities.
Local musicians and dancers will offer live entertainment throughout the day, with Paisley Rugby Club, StreetStuff and the St Mirren Charitable Foundation all providing fun activities to take part in.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Heritage Trust will be bringing a selection of heritage fire engines to the park, while Adrenalism Theatre will be performing their show, The Good, The Bad and The Poultry throughout the day, offering plenty of opportunities for the audience to get involved and join in the fun.
The McMaster Centre tearoom will be open to refresh and replenish with a delicious range of cakes and drinks.

Renfrew Gala Day is the first in a series of events taking place across Renfrewshire this summer, with Barshaw Gala Day due to take place in Barshaw Park on Saturday, June 22, Sma’ Shot Day on Saturday, July 6, and Renfrew Pipe Band Competition returning to Robertson Park on Saturday, July 20.
