The council and West College Scotland have launched a £100,000 fund to support Renfrewshire businesses.

The college received the money to assist 40 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the area through the Renfrewshire Net Zero Workforce Development Fund (NZWDF) to improve their infrastructure and upskill their workforce to deliver net zero services.

The initiative, which aligns with Renfrewshire's commitment to net zero goals, will provide tailored small grant programme funding expert training and continuous support from West College Scotland.

It also promises to present opportunities for SMEs to tap into other funding sources and receive strategic advice for business growth.

The assistant principal of creativity, technology and skills at West, said: "We are delighted receive this funding to support sustainable practice in our local community within Renfrewshire.

"This funding initiative underscores our dedication to fostering support for local SME’s towards achieving their Net Zero goals by growing sustainability skills and knowledge within their workforce.”

Private sector SMEs with a registered address in the Renfrewshire council area can apply.

They can choose from a variety of green skills courses, from Electric Vehicle Charging to Ground & Air Source Heat Pumps and Solar Thermal Systems.
