A centre which hires out mobility equipment to the public is celebrating the success of Invest in Renfrewshire's referral programme.
Shopmobility Renfrewshire praised the local initiative for paving the way for their recent recruit, David Robb.
Karen Miller, the office manager and fundraising officer, said: “David has already been a great referral from Invest in Renfrewshire, and a significant contributor to our business, by using his initiative to market our services across Renfrewshire.”
David started with Shopmobility Renfrewshire after volunteering at their Historical Tour Event last year, where Karen recognised his skills and abilities.
As a job opportunity became available, David approached his Invest Adviser to discuss taking part in the Employer Recruitment Initiative to gain a part-time post with Shopmobility Renfrewshire.
He is now their marketing and photography administrator and contacts organisations in Renfrewshire to publicise Shopmobility's services.
As part of his professional development, David is due to complete a photography course at West College Scotland in May.
He also attended an accredited Emergency First Aid at Work training at the end of March.
Karen added: “We have been working with Invest in Renfrewshire for a number of years with their Employment Team. At one point we had six members of staff at Shopmobility Renfrewshire. Five were down to Invest in Renfrewshire and all fantastically contributed to our business development.
“Our income has significantly increased, our service has improved to the point we are now delivering four pillars of strength (hires, repairs, social inclusion events and advocacy). This would not have been possible without the support of Invest.
"Invest are the best. I have worked with their employment team for a considerable number of years, and they are experts in their field. Helping many people achieve their aspirations and goals, changes lives."
