A TEENAGER has been arrested after a 'knife' was allegedly discovered in his trouser waistband.
Police were called out to Paisley Road in Renfrew on Monday evening (March 25) after a member of the public raised concerns about an argument between a group of people.
The force claims that the witness saw one of the men "in possession of a knife".
Cops searched and stopped a 19-year-old who matched the description given to them. A search reportedly uncovered a 'knife' from the waistband of the man's trousers.
He was arrested and is set to appear in court at a later date.
A spokesperson said: "About 6.30pm on Monday, March 25, police were contacted by a member of the public who stated that he had seen an argument between a group of males.
"He observed one of these males to be in possession of a knife.
"Police attended and traced a male (age 19) matching the description at Paisley Road in Renfrew.
"The male was searched, and a knife was recovered from the waistband of his trousers.
"The male was arrested and will appear at court at a later date."
