Emergency service crews were spotted at an incident on a busy street in Renfrewshire.
Officers say they were called to a report of concern for a man in Rashiewood, Erskine.
999 teams were made aware of the incident shortly after 6pm on Sunday, March 24.
Following that, the 81-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment.
During the situation, residents on social media reported several police vehicles and two ambulances were spotted in the area.
An investigation has now been launched to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 6.25pm on Sunday, March 24, 2024, police were called to a report of concern for an 81-year-old man in Rashiewood, Erskine.
“He was taken to hospital for treatment and enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding this incident.”
The Scottish Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
