UPDATE: The road has now reopened.
TWO people have reportedly been injured following a 'serious crash' on the Erskine Bridge.
We previously reported that a stretch of the bridge had been closed earlier this afternoon following a collision on the northbound carriageway.
Emergency services are currently in attendance at the scene and the road remains blocked.
Police confirmed the crash involved one car and that two people "appear to have sustained injuries".
Uplift has been arranged for the car.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.35pm on Thursday, January 4, 2024, police were called to a report of a one-car road crash on the northbound carriageway of the A898 Erskine Bridge.
“Emergency services are in attendance and the road is currently blocked. Two people appear to have sustained injuries and an uplift of the vehicle has been arranged.”
