Renfrewshire has been handed a jobs boost after a popular retailer opened its new store.

Hobbycraft's new branch officially opened in Phoenix Retail Park, on the outskirts of Paisley, on Wednesday, December 13.

A 'grand store opening event', which was attended by Renfrewshire Provost Lorraine Cameron, also took place on Saturday, December 16.

Customers are able to browse an extensive range of crafting products from art, baking, home craft, papercraft, knitting, sewing, kids' crafts and model making to accessories for weddings, celebrations and much more. 

The new store has created 12 new jobs, with staff on hand to provide their crafting expertise.

Ashleigh Gray, manager of the Hobbycraft branch, said: "Our amazing store is packed with crafting materials to suit all ages and abilities, and beginners through to experienced crafters are all welcome to pop into the store and chat to our creative colleagues. 

"They're always happy to share their knowledge, tips and tricks."

The store will host a Decopatch workshop on Saturday, December 23, and a Cricut demonstration on Saturday, December 30.

The free events will both take place from 9pm and 1pm each day.
