A MAJOR retailer has submitted plans to open a new store in a Renfrewshire village.
It comes after the local authority validated a planning application to form a new Sainsbury's in Houston on Monday, December 4.
The proposal, which has been put forward by the supermarket chain, is looking to make alterations and extensions of the existing shopping parade at 63 Crosslee Crescent to form one retail store and retain one hot-food takeaway.
Additionally, the plans state the new store would get a new shopfront, a rear extension, and new advertisements.
As part of the application, detailed plans which have been submitted show how the new Sainsbury's Local would look in the area.
Currently, the building is being used as local amenities, including a shop.
However, the Gazette understands the retailer has purchased the building where they hope there new store will be located.
Council bosses have yet to approve of the plans.
