Christmas will come early in Houston this weekend as the village's festive lights are switched on.
The celebrations, which will include a fireworks display, raffle and special appearance from Santa, will take place in Houston's Main Street on Saturday, December 1, from 5pm to 8pm.

The event will also feature a DJ and compère, Salvation Army Band and music from local schools.
Main Street, between Houston Inn and Fox and Hounds pub, will be closed from 4pm to 8pm on the day of the event.
Parking will also be restricted in the village, with overflow parking available at the Houston Primary and Gryffe High School car parks.
