A Renfrew man has told of his excitement as he launches his new restaurant and bar in Johnstone.
Rabi Maharjan, 38, has been welcoming his first customers to De' Buddha, located at the site of the former Rennies pub in Collier Street.
The menu features a diverse array of traditional Nepali dishes along with multi-cuisine options.
Rabi, who is originally from Kathmandu, in Nepal, was a teenager when he first arrived in Scotland.
He told The Gazette: "I worked in restaurants and cafes part-time and slowly started getting passionate about food and drinks.
"I always wanted to open my own restaurant one day and finally I did, when I opened my first restaurant in Gourock. and ran it for seven good years with lots of success.
"It was called My Kitchen Multi-Cuisine Restaurant and it won more than 10 awards over seven years."
Rabi is now hoping that De' Buddha will prove popular with residents in Renfrewshire.
He said: "The good thing is that I got so many previous customers down here already from Inverclyde.
"My main motivation is providing customers with quality food and drinks which make a memorable experience.
"I strongly believe that I'll provide the same good service as I used to do in Gourock.
"And once it settles down, I'm planning to bring a different course meal menu with pairing food and wines."
