Bridge of Weir residents are invited to a public meeting next month to discuss plans for a Men's Shed.
Councillor James MacLaren is inviting those who are interested in the proposal to attend Freeland Church, in the village's Main Street, at 11am on Monday, December 11.
The Bridge of Weir representative said Men's Sheds across Scotland had helped reduce social isolation among men and would bring "great benefits" to the local community.
Councillor MacLaren told The Gazette: "It is really pleasing to see a meeting is planned to discuss plans for a Men's Shed in Bridge of Weir.
"I'd encourage any resident interested in helping to set up one – potentially in the park in Houston Road – to go along on December 11 to Freeland Church.
"I believe a Men’s Shed would be fantastic for Bridge of Weir and bring great benefits to the local community.
"They have helped to reduce social isolation in many places across Scotland and have helped to bring people together during challenging times.
"I hope this meeting will help kickstart plans for a Men's Shed and see them come to fruition in the New Year in Bridge of Weir."
