Jewellery of "great sentimental value" has been stolen from a house in Bridge of Weir.
The incident took place in the Hazelwood Road area of the village on Sunday, October 22.
When the householders returned from holiday, they discovered several items of jewellery, including two Breitling watches, had been taken from their home.
Police described the "very precious" pieces, which are worth a five-figure sum in total, as holding "great sentimental value" to their owners.
Detective Constable John Sharkey said: "I am asking people in the local area to think back and consider if they noticed anything suspicious or out of the ordinary.
"Did you see anyone who wasn't familiar to the area, did you notice any cars or people hanging around for periods of time. Any small piece of information could prove vital to our investigation so please do contact us.
"I would also ask anyone with recording equipment to check the footage as there could be vital images which would assist our enquiries."
Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 2308 of Monday, October 23.
Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where you can give your information anonymously.
