AN investigation has been launched after a derelict building was deliberately torched in Paisley.
It comes after emergency service crews raced to reports of a building on fire on Tannahill Road in the town at around 7pm on Tuesday, October 3.
In total, three fire appliances were sent to the scene where they extinguished the blaze affecting the ground floor of the property.
There were no reported casualties from the incident.
However, now, cops have confirmed the fire is being treated as "wilful".
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 7.55pm on Tuesday, October 3, police were called to a report of a building fire in Tannahill Road, Paisley.
"The fire is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing.
"Anyone with information that may assist should contact 101 with reference number 3369 of October 3."
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were alerted at 6.57pm on Tuesday, October 3, to reports of a fire within a building on Tannahill Road in Paisley.
"Operations control mobilised two fire appliances and specialist resources to the scene to extinguish the fire affecting the ground floor of a derelict building.
"There were no reported casualties.
"Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe."
