Rangers legend Ally McCoist made an appearance at a special book event held in Bridge of Weir.
Bernie's Cafe Deli, in the village's Main Street, hosted the event on Friday night, which was organised to promote music journalist Billy Sloan's new book.
One Love, One Life: Stories from the Stars tells stories of his experiences interviewing the likes of Keith Richards and David Bowie.
Billy told The Gazette: "It was fantastic to be invited to sign copies of my book at Bernie's Cafe Deli on Friday night. I had no idea what to expect - this was all new territory for me - and wondered who, if anybody, would actually show up.
"But Aileen Jeffrey from The Ginger Cat Bookshop and the staff at Bernie's worked their socks off to make the event a success and it was great to talk to an audience who loved rock music every bit as much as I do.
"Laura Maxwell - a colleague at BBC Radio Scotland - was the perfect host and we had a lovely chat about some of the craziest stories of my 45-year career as a music journalist and broadcaster, from interviewing Grace Jones in her bath to blagging my way into the White House with Paolo Nutini.
"I had a great time. It was my first visit to Bridge of Weir. After such a warm welcome, it won't be my last."
The event was organised by Aileen Jeffrey, who owns The Ginger Cat Children's Bookshop in Bridge of Weir.
She said: "We kicked off Billy Sloan's book tour for his new book One Love One Life: Stories from the Stars with a sold out event which was just fantastic, and Bernie's in Bridge of Weir being just along from the bookshop made for the perfect venue.
"Billy was captivating as he told the stories that everyone wanted to hear and BBC Scotland's Laura Maxwell was a magnificent host.
"I'm so pleased to be able to bring events such as this to our local community and I was delighted that so many people came along, we even had Ally McCoist pop in to join us.
"Our next event is also at Bernie's and will be An Evening with Anna Deacon and Vicky Allan, authors of The Ripple Effect, where we'll be discussing all things wild swimming."
