UPDATE: Teen appears in court charged with 'murder bid'
A teenager has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged murder bid in Johnstone.
We previously reported that a 16-year-old teenage boy was reportedly assaulted and stabbed near Thorn Court at around 12.20pm on Wednesday, September 13.
He was taken to hospital where medical staff describe his condition as stable.
Police have now confirmed that an 18-year-old man is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court today.
Officers are continuing to appeal for information on another man, who is described as slim and in his mid-to-late teens with short brown hair.
At the time, he was wearing a dark-coloured tracksuit top and bottoms with the hood up or a baseball cap on.
Detective Inspector Nicky Beattie said: "I am appealing to anyone who was in and around the area at the time of the incident and thinks they may have information which could assist our enquiries to get in touch.
"If you have any recording equipment, such as doorbell or dash cams, please check the footage and bring anything of significance to our attention."
Police said local officers remain in the area to provide reassurance to residents and anyone with concerns can approach these officers.
Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 1542 of September 13.
Alternatively, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where information can be given anonymously.
