4. Johnstone butchers John Marshall and Sons were savouring success after being crowned Scottish Champion in the 2013 Scottish Craft Butchers Steak Pie Evaluation.
5. Kim Macleod, from Renfrew, was the recipient of Renfrewshire educational trust's annual grant to students studying a one-year full-time Taught Masters degree at a UK university.
6. Renfrewshire's Provost Anne Hall expressed her delight after almost £5,000 was raised for four local charities through a summer charity abseil.
