A Howwood mum has told of her delight after moving her popular dog grooming service into Johnstone's old registry office.
Maureen Grant, 55, started her business from her garage over a decade ago before teaming up with Kelly Morrow to create LoveDog Grooming in 2015.
Now based in Macdowall Street, it caters to all dog breeds and also offers a daycare service and shop.
Maureen described the new premises of the business, which was previously located in Floors Street, as "absolutely fabulous."
The mum-of-three told The Gazette: "It's a much nicer space, with car parking at the back for customers and we've got a much bigger outdoor play area.
"Everybody who has come so far has said they absolutely love it and I think the dogs are so much happier being here as well with the natural light coming through the lovely windows.
"People have also been telling us how they got their birth registered here or married here, so there's many memories for people in this place."
LoveDog Grooming currently has eight members of staff and Maureen is hoping her business will create more jobs in the future.
She said: "I've just recently taken on a new dog groomer and we need someone to run the new shop for us if it becomes really busy.
"It is currently selling doggy treats and toys, and we will eventually have a range of colourful leads and other items.
"Dog grooming is becoming quite competitive. We used to be quite few and far between but there are a lot more now because so many people now have dogs."
To celebrate the recent move, LoveDog Grooming will be holding an open day on Sunday, September 3, running from 1pm to 4pm.
There will be tasty treats on offer, as well as activities for kids such as face painting and a bouncy castle.
Maureen added: "The event is a way of saying thank you to the customers who have supported us all these years, because this business could never have got to where it is without people putting their faith in us and putting their dogs in our care.
"I would encourage people to come along and have a look at our premises and ask any questions they may have about our daycare or dog grooming services."
