PEST control teams have attended a residential area in Paisley after receiving a report of rat infestation.
Renfrewshire Council have revealed that vermin control teams visited a property on Gallowhill Road in the town on Thursday, August 9, to carry out an inspection after being made aware of rats in a garden.
It comes after residents reported a sign was installed in the area yesterday warning them of the pests and of the baiting that has been put down.
The local authority is now urging locals not to touch the baiting or allow children and pets near it.
The situation will be monitored and resolved.
A spokesperson for the council said: "Our pest control team received report of rats in the back garden of Gallowhill Road and visited on August 9 to carry out required action.
"This will take time to take effect and will be monitored by the team to ensure the issue is resolved.
"Signs have been put up to advise residents baiting has been put down, not to touch the bait boxes and to keep children and pets away from them.
“If any resident has concerns with vermin in their property or area, they should contact the council’s pest control service on 0300 300 0380 who will arrange to visit."
