Poignant tributes have been paid to a Johnstone schoolboy who has died at the age of 12.
Steven Dock, who passed away on Monday, July 24, has been described by his family as a "happy and cheerful boy" who displayed true community spirit.
The Johnstone High pupil was well-known for taking part in voluntary work to help look after the Corseford area of town.
Steven's mum Debbie said her son was deeply loved by all his family and was an "amazing" big brother to his sister Kayla.
She told The Gazette: "He was always a happy and cheerful boy and he had a wide circle of friends.
"He was a valued community member, volunteering for things like litter picks.
"Steven was a member of his local Scout group - Fordbank Scouts - and a volunteer at Beavers, the younger Scout section, where he always buddied up with new starts to make them feel welcome.
"He was a huge Rangers fan, attending matches often with his dad, even having the opportunity to be a team mascot thanks to Seko, who his dad Steven works for."
The youngster's death has led to a flood of tributes on social media, including one from Corseford Tenants and Residents Association (TARA).
A spokesperson said: "Our community are deeply saddened to hear of the tragic passing of young Steven Dock.
"He was a valued member of our community, helping out at litter picks, showing community spirit and kindness to everyone he encountered.
"A valued member of Fordbank Scouts and someone who is fondly remembered by all staff at Fordbank Primary School, we will miss Steven."
Since last week, donations have poured into a GoFundMe page that is raising money to pay for Steven's funeral.
It has so far raised more than £12,000 – well beyond its £500 target.
On the GoFundMe page, Steven was described by those who knew him as a "very clever and helpful young lad" and someone whose "smiling face will be missed greatly."
One of Steven's former teachers wrote: "Steven was an absolute pleasure to teach, one of the nicest, kindest kids to have in class."
