A LOCAL radio station is asking residents for help after revealing their ambitious plans for the year ahead.
Johnstone Sound, which is a non-profit online community radio service, is aiming to get the station on DAB+ in Renfrewshire.
However, they have revealed to do so, it will cost “several thousands of pounds” each year.
Now, the radio station has made a plea for listeners and businesses to help raise vital funds to make the transition.
The firm is initially trying to raise £500 to get started.
In a statement on social media, the radio station said: “Johnstone Sound is a non-profit online community radio service for Johnstone.
“We have a great team of around 15 dedicated volunteers who help with the operation of the station.
“We're now in our fifth year and moving forward with new and exciting plans to get the station on DAB+ in Renfrewshire.
“But we can’t do it without the help from you.
“It costs several thousands of pounds to keep the station on air every year and we really need the help of local listeners and local businesses in order to keep us on air, serving the local community.
“We are currently running a fundraising campaign to raise vital funds to help keep us on air.”
